Is your skin the best it can be?

You don’t have to have terrible skin to work with a professional skin therapist.
Generally “Before & After” photos show extreme changes in a skin condition (this makes it more impressive!) and can make us feel that unless we have a severe skin condition, our skin is coping fine with the way it’s being treated currently.

One of the most rewarding moments in my work is when I get to work with a client who feels their skin is fairly good, but once we’ve listened to their skin (through a digital scan, where nothing can hide) and I’ve tweaked their skin care programme (customised it to support their skins exact needs ) and they realise how much their skin has improved!

Just because your skin isn’t “freaking out” doesn’t mean you’ll always get by using guesswork to choose skincare products for your skin.

Sure you might have a resilient skin that will cope with being slathered with whatever you decide to buy, but at the same time, when you’re using products that aren’t specific to you, your skin will not age at its best and may become sensitised over time.
You’ve heard the saying “prevention is better than cure” – this too applies to skin...... once the damage is done it can be really difficult and costly to bring your “glow” back.

When you have your skin scanned to see where it needs support by someone who understands skin and can guide you through your skin care choices, you will see your skin improve even when you didn’t think it could.

Where you see  “spots” or “redness” or “dry patches” – I see the cells, functions and processes involved that have lead to that condition occurring.  When you know how everything works, and what ingredients your skin needs for support so it can function optimally, getting results is easy!

So whether you feel your skin is beyond repair, or you feel it’s “fine” but maybe needs a boost to ensure you’re looking your best, working with professionally trained skin-therapist can help you achieve the skin you love.

At Pamper Pod you will only find professional products that are proven to deliver results and are cruelty free.

I have chosen to work with 2 brands that I've personally put through their paces and truly believe they will help me, help you, help your skin.

Sabore is a NZ product made in small batches from NZ sourced Organic ingredients. The fact that they're made in small batches is essential in maintaining the potency and efficacy of the natural ingredients seeing as only organically sourced preservatives are used.

Nimue has unique formulations to deliver optimal concentrations of pharmaceutical grade nutrients, cutting edge antioxidants, superior quality phytoceuticals, peptides and other powerful active ingredients where they are needed most – below the skin’s surface to actively improve skin health and appearance.

Myth #1 - Professional-only Prescription products are *really* expensive.
Professional-only prescription products are more expensive 'on-the-surface" but they don't contain the fillers and inactive  ingredients that 'over-the-counter' products generally contain. These fillers are usually cheap synthetic by-products that are used to boost the volume of the cream to fill the jar and don't have any benefits to your skin.

Myth #2 - It's just as good if it contains the latest anti-ageing ingredients.

The level of results is determined by a number of factors in combination, these being;
- quality of the ingredients (like with food, the better the quality the better the final result)
- the bio-availability of the ingredients (your skin needs to be able to recognise it to use it)
- the concentration of the ingredients (there needs to be enough to make a difference. Let's take a cheese sauce for example.....if you had a litre of white sauce and put a teaspoon of grated cheese in, it's hardly going to be a cheese sauce is it?)
- molecular size of the ingredients (let's face it! no matter how hard you try, there is no way you're going to get an elephant to fit through a straw!)
-  delivery system  (for ingredients to impact on long-term skin health they need to be delivered in a potent and stable form to the layer that needs the nutrients to make our skincells ... the basal junction - stratum basale in the picture below). I like to use the analogy of fruit ..... an orange has a peel that keeps the fruit good to eat until it's picked off the tree to be eaten, sometimes weeks later, likewise an apple, as soon as it's peeled or bitten into and exposed to air it starts to oxidise and goes brown. If effective delivery systems aren't in place these ingredients will begin to deteriorate the minute you open the jar..... rendering them ineffective by the time you come to the end of the product.
